The view affects a lot but….
Since ancient times we have used smell and taste to survive. We tasted if the fruits, seeds and vegetables were good to eat, if there was the presence of danger through smell (smoke) and many other things.
During the era of civilization, especially in the last 70 years, we have forgotten how important it is to smell and taste (not eat) foods.
With the era of supermarkets, eating has become only nutrition, and not the discovery of aromas and perfumes.
For example, there are organizations of the blind that offer dinners completely in the dark, so that each participant is able to rediscover aromas and flavors that we are no longer used to highlighting during our meals.
It is very interesting to do similar things with wine.
Cap the bottle so that we are not influenced by the label, and/or use black goblets, così da non essere influenzati neanche dalla vista.
Being able to identify the color only by smell and taste, perhaps the region of origin of the wine, and even the variety used.
