The macchiato expresses a natural selection from a part of the vineyard, the most wild and that most breathes the proximity of the woodland, the most direct and lean part that, elbowing, seeks to find its space.

The macchiato is a project, a necessity, the deaf explosion that you do not expect.

Behind this broad-shouldered wine, there are scars, wisdom and awareness of those who truly wanted to live, of those who never backed down and decided to fight to endure over time.

For us, the 2021 vintage represented a great year, the ability to start again, strong resilience and the ability to see new objectives. A year of answers.

Dopo 10 anni nasce il progetto del โ€œMacchiato", which for us means figuratively, having a wine contaminated by wood (12 months in barrique), a wine that over time has been enriched but not invaded, a wine that has strengthened in its evolution in the barrel.

"Macchiato" for us represents exactly this, a wine that expresses strength, resistance and integrity. A contaminated wine that must speak, a wineย macchiato.

Environmental sustainability of "Macchiato" wine

Sono tutte bottiglie esclusive per privati che non subiscono trasporto dalla cantina a carico dellโ€™azienda.

Sono circa 1,4 Kg di CO2 emessa per la produzione di ogni bottiglia e circa 840 Kg di CO2 Totale emessa per la loro produzione.

Lโ€™azienda ogni anno pianta 15 Piante di Cacao che assorbono il quantitativo di CO2ย emesso nella produzione

Why the Cacao plant?

The scientific name of Cacao is Theobroma Cacao which means "Food of the Gods," which is perfect for absorbing the CO2 produced by this wine that has always been known as the "Nectar of the Gods" or "Beverage of the Gods"

PRODUCTION TECHNIQUE

Hand-picked into crates in the first week of October from 9 estate rows, after a slight on-vine drying of the grapes.

Destemming and soft pressing, alcoholic fermentation in steel vats for about 2 weeks at a controlled temperature (26-28 ยฐ C). Malolactic fermentation in steel.

Il 100 % della massa trascorre 12 mesiย  in barrique di rovere francese con continue operazioni di batonnage.

ORGANOLEPTIC CHARACTERISTICS

Dense ruby red color.

The nose is intense and territorial, with aromas of black fruit and black cherry, green pepper, light vegetal notes, liquorice, vanilla and cinnamon.

Palato fresco, di grande struttura, vino armonico con tannino vellutato e ben integrato.

Vino di estratto con una grande espressione del frutto, che deve accompagnareย  lunghi momenti di riflessione.

Ottimo se abbinato con carni a lunga cottura e grandi formaggi stagionati.
