Ma da cosa deriva il nome \u201cMontescudaio\u201d?<\/h4>\n

Un nome molto particolare che trova la sua origine dal latino \u201cMons scutorum\u201d<\/strong> che significa \u201cmonte degli scudi\u201d<\/strong> or \"mount of the squire.\" The first inhabited nucleus formed around a Benedictine nunnery, founded in 1091 by Count Gherardo Della Gherardesca, under whose rule it remained for a long period.<\/p>\n
